We’re rallying film lovers, preservationists, and the community to ensure this historic theater reopens for future generations.

About

The Decurion Corporation which owns the Cinerama Dome is letting theater sit abandoned & untouched from when it closed in March 2020. I was told by Decurion's property manager that there are NO plans to reopen it.

There are currently no vacancy laws in Los Angeles, so I believe the options are to put public pressure on CEO Christopher Forman/Decurion to reopen it as a cinema, or have them lease it out to another exhibitor, . It is a designated Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument and Los Angeles deserves to have it back.

The Cinerama Dome opened in 1963 and is one of the most treasured cinemas in the world.  In the 1990s Pacific Theaters tried to demolish it, but due to public outcry , the Dome was saved.  Sadly, we are facing this situation again.
